The Energy and Climate Change Committee will hold a one-off oral evidence session with the “Big Six” energy companies on Tuesday 7 December 2010.

The Committee will examine the outlook for energy prices and what efforts the companies are making to help those in fuel poverty.

The session will also consider how the companies can improve competition and the accuracy of billing.

Likewise the Committee will discuss whether the wholesale market is fit to incentivise sufficient investment in new capacity and how the Big Six will help to reach the UK’s renewables and emissions targets.
