Michael Gove and Ed Balls to appear before Education Committee - Update: 27 July venue change

The new Education Committee will hold its first oral evidence sessions on Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 July
Education Secretary Michael Gove will give evidence to the Committee at 9.30 am on Wednesday 28 July in the Wilson Room, Portcullis House.
The session will focus on the responsibilities of the Education Secretary and the work of the department, including the Academies Bill and the Building Schools for the Future programme.

The Shadow Education Secretary Ed Balls will appear on Tuesday 27 July in a session on Building Schools for the Future and future capital spending.
The meeting starts at 9.30 am in Committee Room 8 [Please note change of room.] and the Committee plans to examine the rationale for the cutbacks to the Building Schools for the Future programme announced by the Secretary of State on 5 July, and the principles which should guide future capital spending by the Department.
