Call for evidence: The National Assembly for Wales (Legislative Competence) (Amendment of Schedule 7 to the Government of Wales Act 206) Order 2010

The Welsh Affairs Committee seeks your views on the Government’s proposals contained in the draft Order amending Schedule 7 to the 2006 Government of Wales Act which has been laid before Parliament.  Schedule 7 sets out the legislative powers the National Assembly would enjoy if, following a ‘Yes’ vote in a referendum, the ‘Assembly Act’ provisions set out in Part 4 came into effect. The principal purpose of this Order is to ensure that Schedule 7 contains provisions that cover all the Matters in respect of which the Assembly already has legislative powers. Accordingly, the draft Order proposes amendments to Schedule 7 to reconcile its contents with the provisions of Schedule 5.
The draft Order is expected to be considered by Parliament in the next few weeks. Before this happens, the Welsh Affairs Committee is keen to hear about any issues of interest and concern regarding the proposals set out in the draft Order.
