As part of its inquiry into Government Assistance to Industry, the Business Innovation and Skills Committee will travel to the West Midlands on Wednesday 1st December 2011. Members will make a site visit to Delcam, a CADCAM software developer based in Birmingham, and later meet with local business leaders to discuss the issues they are facing in the current economic climate.

Committee Chair, Adrian Bailey said:

“The Committee is keen to get out of Westminster for this important inquiry, to meet business leaders who have real experience of the difficulties businesses are facing in the current economic climate. We very much hope this visit will help inform our views as to how the Government can better assist businesses. If we are counting on British industry to help rebalance the economy, getting out there to find out what more can be done is vital.”

There will be an opportunity for local press to interview the Chair and Members from 3.30 pm at the Birmingham Chambers of Commerce.
