Government Chief Scientific Adviser and representatives of private industry give evidence to the Lords Science and Technology Committee about the implications of the comprehensive spending review for scientific research

The Government Chief Scientific Adviser, Professor Sir John Beddington, Professor Adrian Smith of the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and Professor David Delpy of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council gave evidence to the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee on the implications of the comprehensive spending review for scientific research. Following the evidence session, Sir John Beddington clarified his answer to QQ 100-103 in a letter dated 22 November 2010.

On the same day, the Committee also heard evidence from representatives of private industry (Rolls Royce, GlaxoSmithKline and BT Innovate and Design) on the same issue. Following the evidence session, further written evidence was submitted by Rolls Royce.
