Secretary of State questioned on health and social care spending

In the final oral evidence session for its inquiry into how the financial squeeze will affect NHS and adult social care services, the Commons Health Committee asks minister Andrew Lansley how the recent spending settlement is likely to impact both on service provision and efforts to improve efficiency and productivity.
MPs will be keen to discuss with all the witnesses at this session how spending pressures on both health and social care are likely to affect the interface between these two services and, in particular, the practical delivery of social care to the aging and infirm.
