The Public Administration Committee (PASC) has today published a report on the appointment of the dual post of First Civil Service Commissioner and Commissioner for Public Appointments.

The Committee is prepared to endorse this appointment and has every confidence in Sir David as an individual. However, it has serious concerns about the appointment of a senior civil servant to this post. PASC is also concerned about the lack of consultation surrounding the proposal to combine these two roles in one person.
