The Commons Science and Technology Committee holds its second follow-up evidence session on the disclosure of climate data from the Climatic Research Unit at the University of East Anglia at 9.20am, Wednesday 27 October in the Thatcher Room, Portcullis House.

Witnesses

9.20am:

  • Sir Muir Russell, Head of the Independent Climate Change Emails Review
  • Professor Edward Acton, Vice-Chancellor, University of East Anglia
  • Professor Trevor Davies, Pro Vice Chancellor for Research, University of East Anglia

Background

The previous Science and Technology Committee published a report in March 2010 on the disclosure of climate data from the Climatic Research Unit at the University of East Anglia.

Due to the approaching general election the Committee had to complete its work before two reviews that UEA itself had set up reported. These two reviews have now completed their work and published their conclusions and recommendations.

The International Panel set up by the University to assess the integrity of the research published by the Climatic Research Unit, led by Lord Oxburgh, published its report in April 2010. Lord Oxburgh gave evidence to the new Science and Technology Committee on 8 September 2010.

In July 2010, the Independent Climate Change Emails Review led by Sir Muir Russell published its findings.
