Evidence session with former ministers on What do Ministers do?

In its first public evidence session on its inquiry into “What do Ministers do?”, the Public Administration Select Committee will hear from three experienced former ministers. The session is likely to examine what ministers do and how effectively their time is spent.

Particular issues that may arise include:

  • Whether there are currently too many ministers?;
  • Should the number of ministers be reduced if the Government cuts the number of MPs?; and
  • If the Government will need less ministers as a consequence of plans to decentralise many of its functions?
