The Political and Constitutional Reform Committee today takes evidence from David Laws MP and Lord Adonis on the practical and constitutional issues that emerged following the general election in May 2010.

David Laws MP and Lord Adonis were key figures for the Liberal Democrat and Labour parties respectively during the negotiations to form a government after the election.

The committee will ask questions about their experiences of government formation and transition.

Topics the committee is likely to examine include the process of negotiating with other parties, the role of the incumbent government, and the status of the coalition’s programme for government.
