The Committee takes evidence from Professor Alison Wolf on her recent review of vocational education.
Commissioned by the Secretary of State for Education, and described by him as “brilliant” and “ground-breaking”, the Wolf Report makes a number of recommendations to Government on the need for reform in vocational education and training for young people, including in areas such as funding, qualifications, and the workforce.
Alison Wolf is the Sir Roy Griffiths Professor of Public Sector Management at King’s College, London.

This session examines issues arising from the introduction of the English Baccalaureate and its impact on pupils and schools.
The Committee will consider the choice of subjects and qualifications included in the EBac, the value of the EBac as a performance measure and the implications of the EBac for young people’s progression in education or to employment.
