The Energy and Climate Change Committee will hold a one-off oral evidence session on the Outcomes from Durban UNFCCC COP 17 (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference Of Parties 17) on Tuesday 13 December 2011 in the Grimond Room, Portcullis House

The session will explore what was achieved at COP 17, including:

  • progress towards an international legally binding agreement on emissions reductions

  • mitigation efforts
  • adaptation mechanisms
  • the gap between pledged emissions cuts and those needed to limit the average global temperature increase to two degrees
