Defence Industry Experts Appear Before Lords Committee

The House of Lords EU Sub Committee for Foreign Affairs, Defence and Development Policy questioned representatives of the defence industry on Thursday, 1 December, as part of its inquiry into the military capabilities available to the EU.

The Committee focused on the supply and market of defence goods in the EU and the function of the European Defence Agency in encouraging Members States to combine their research & development, and procurement.

It  also addressed issues such as the attitudes of European governments to the defence industry and why the EU and NATO have such separate relationships with the industry.
