This is the fourth evidence session for the inquiry, and scheduled to be the last. The Committee is likely to question the Minister about the Government’s efforts to strengthen the UK’s relationship with Turkey, especially in light of Turkish President Gül’s recent State Visit, and about the Government’s support for Turkey’s EU accession. Questioning may cover related matters including civil rights issues in Turkey, the Kurdish situation, Cyprus, and Turkey as a foreign policy partner.
