The Commons Transport Committee plans to scrutinise the work of the major agencies and non department public bodies associated with the Department for Transport during the current Parliament. It announced in December 2010 that this work would begin with oral evidence from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.

The Transport Committee questions the Maritime and Coastguard Agency about its proposals to replace ten regional Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centres with two nationally networked Maritime Operations Centres.
