Committee announces inquiry into Future of Higher Education

The Business, Innovation and Skills Committee today announces that its next inquiry will be into the future of higher education.

The Committee will inquire into:

  • The conclusions of the Browne Report and the content of the Government’s proposed White Paper on higher education (including the Government’s proposals for widening participation and access); and
  • The role and future of state funding in higher education.

Notes on submission of written evidence

Written evidence in connection with the inquiry should be sent to the Committee by Thursday 10 March 2011. These should be sent, in MS Word or rich text format – NOT PDF format – of no more than eight pages or 3,000 words, by e-mail to biscom@parliament.uk with a single hard copy sent to the Clerk of the Committee at the address below. 

Submissions should be in the format of a self-contained memorandum. Paragraphs should be numbered for ease of reference, and the document should, if possible, include an executive summary.  Submissions should be original work, not previously published or circulated elsewhere. Once  submitted evidence is the property of the Committee and should not be published without the Committee’s consent.

Parties submitting evidence are requested to follow these guidelines. Email submissions are strongly preferred. If you wish your evidence to remain confidential, please contact the Committee staff.
