Sport Scotland, Sport Wales and Sport Northern Ireland give evidence

Sport Scotland, Sport Wales and Sport Northern Ireland gave evidence to the House of Lords Social Policies and Consumer Protection Committee on Thursday 3 February as part of its inquiry into Grassroots Sport and the EU.

The Committee heard from:

Eamonn McCartan, Chief Executive, Sport Northern Ireland
Stewart Harris, Chief Executive, Sport Scotland
Huw Jones, Chief Executive, Sport Wales

The witnesses were asked questions in relation to:

  • How best practice and the numerous benefits of sport in the health, social and educational spheres might be better researched and communicated to policy makers and those who deliver projects
  • How the EU should act to support this work
  • The Sports Programme, the EU funding stream from 2014 

The evidence session took place on Thursday 3 February in Committee Room 2 of the House of Lords.
