The session provides an opportunity to discover what, if any, progress has been made in determining the future of CEOP, and the new CEO’s views on the Government’s proposals for merging CEOP into a National Crime Agency, as well as the parameters of CEOP’s research into so-called on-street grooming of children

  • Peter Davies, Head of CEOP

Committee Chairman, Rt Hon Keith Vaz MP, said:

‘The Government proposes to merge CEOP into the new National Crime Agency. The Committee needs to be satisfied that this is the right way to deal with the very important issue of child protection. As has been emphasised by the child grooming cases over recent weeks, it is vital that child protection retains its dedicated focus rather than being subsumed by equally important issues.’
