Home Affairs Committee to examine the Government's Review of Counter-Terrorism

Purpose of session:
In December, the Committee held two evidence sessions focusing on the issues being addressed in the course of the Government’s review of some counter-terrorism and security measures, which the Government considered, had raised particular questions about the appropriate balance between security and personal freedoms. The Committee took evidence from Lord Macdonald of River Glaven, QC, Lord Carlile of Berriew QC, Charles Farr, head of the Office of security and Counter-Terrorism in the Home Office, and from the Minister, Lady Neville-Jones.

The outcome of the review was published on 26 January. This session provides the Committee with an opportunity to explore the conclusions of the review.
