MPs examine the fate of bus services after the Spending Review

The CommonsTransport Committee takes oral evidence today from transport specialists and user groups.
Buses are the most used form of public transport in England. For around 20% of routes outside London some degree of public subsidy provides important revenue to bus operators providing services during a part of the day or week or to serve areas with a low population.
Three specific announcements within the Spending Review are set to affect local bus services in England outside London and all of the issues raised by these changes will be examined during this inquiry.
