In its first session of the new year PASC will be hearing from Rt Hon Oliver Letwin MP, Minister of State for Policy, about the Government’s new departmental business plans and the assumptions which lie behind the concept of a “post-bureaucratic age”, which the Government sees as the context for its agenda of public sector reform.

Wednesday 12 January 2011

Committee Room 16

Witnesses:

At 10.30 am

  • Rt Hon Oliver Letwin MP, Minister of State, Cabinet Office

The session will also serve to inform the Committee’s future inquiries on the broader theme of good governance. Particular issues that may arise include:

  • how Business Plans differ from the previous Public Service Agreements;
  • how effective they will they be in delivering the Government’s reform programme; and
  • how far it will be possible to evaluate their success.
