Civil Service reform has been a continuing theme of successive administrations. In its first public evidence session of its inquiry into “Civil Service Reform and Principles of Good Governance” the Public Administration Select Committee will hear from a range of experts in the field

The session is likely to: 

  • examine what effects the spending cuts and the Government’s public services reform agenda will have on the Civil Service;
  • explore the consequences for current accountability and governance arrangements; and 
  • consider how departments should manage transformation programmes.
