Committee to hold final evidence session into the New Landscape of Policing

Purpose of session:

This is an opportunity for the Committee to hear about policing best practice from the Chief Constable of Thames Valley Police, who was recommended as a witness to the inquiry by the Prime Minister.  The Chief Constable is also heading up an ACPO review of police guidance and this will be a chance for Members to question her on this subject.  The Committee will also have the opportunity to ask Lord Blair, the former Metropolitian Police Commissioner, his views about the issues raised by the new landscape of policing inquiry.  This is expected to be the final piece of oral evidence for this inquiry.

Committee Chair Rt Hon Keith Vaz MP said:

The work Sara Thornton is doing on reviewing police guidance and Lord Blair’s involvement in police transformation are of particular interest to the Committee. We look forward to hearing the results of this best practice and how it is shared across forces.”
