5 July 2011

This is an opportunity for the Commons Home Affairs Committee to question the Home Secretary about her first year in office and to raise matters of interest from across the Home Office’s responsibilities.  The focus of the session is on immigration, policing and counter-terrorism.

Committee Chair Rt Hon Keith Vaz MP said:

"Recent developments at the Home Office make the appearance of the Home Secretary very timely. We will be asking her why someone who is banned from the UK is able to enter unnoticed, and why it has taken the Home Office 6 weeks from decision for action to be taken on bail legislation.

Alongside this we will be asking the Home Secretary to outline her policy priorities, and the main obstacles to achieving these."
