Background

The Scotland Office published its annual report on 30 June 2011. The current Scottish Affairs Committee marks its first birthday this week. This provides a suitable moment to review the work of the Scotland Office so far this session, question the Secretary of State on his responsibilities and assess progress on the Scotland Bill.

Other topics the committee may cover during the session include the Strategic Defence Review, the Crown Estate, and Supporting Scotland’s Economy.
