Experts questioned on constitutional change overseas

The Political and Constitutional Reform Committee will take evidence on Thursday 07 July at 10.00 am in the Wilson Room, Portcullis House.

The purpose of this evidence session is to consider some examples of major constitutional change that have taken place or are about to take place in other European countries. In some cases this has been the creation of an entirely new constitution, and in some a significant reform of the existing constitution.

The countries in question are

  • France
  • Hungary
  • Ireland
  • Turkey

The session, which forms part of the Committee’s inquiry Mapping the path to codifying – or not codifying – the UK’s constitution, will inform the Committee’s consideration of constitutional reform in the UK.
