Committee hears further evidence on air passenger duty (APD)

The Northern Ireland Affairs Committee will hold its second evidence session on air passenger duty on Wednesday 22 June. The Committee is carrying out a short inquiry into how air passenger duty affects individuals, airports and airlines, businesses and tourism in Northern Ireland. The inquiry looks to contrast the UK rate of APD to the low rate in force in the Republic of Ireland.

Further evidence sessions are being planned and details will be announced shortly. These sessions will be held at the House of Commons.

Justine Greening MP, Economic Secretary, HM Treasury will be giving evidence at 2.30 pm on Wednesday 29 June. It is intended that Continental Airlines and the Northern Ireland Hotels Federation will give evidence earlier the same day, though the exact time is to be confirmed.
