HIV and AIDS: Public Health Minister to be questioned

The House of Lords Committee on HIV and AIDS in the UK will question Anne Milton MP, Minister for Public Health, on Tuesday 14 June, in what will be the last evidence session of its inquiry.
The committee will ask the Minister about how changes to the NHS and public health will impact upon the prevention and treatment of HIV.
The committee will also consider the success of recent HIV prevention campaigns, in light of recent figures suggesting that 100,000 people will be living with HIV in the UK by 2012.
Other issues to be discussed include:
- The funding of prevention programmes
- Treatment standards & costs
- Barriers to testing for HIV
- Funding cuts to voluntary organisations
The evidence session will take place from 10.15am on Tuesday 14 June in Committee Room 2 of the House of Lords.
Public committee sessions are open to everyone, including the press, to watch proceedings. Visitors should arrive as early as possible; space is limited and places cannot be booked in advance.
