Education Committee to take evidence on 16-19 participation in education and training on Wednesday 16 March at 9.30 am in the Wilson Room, Portcullis House

 

This first evidence session of the Committee’s inquiry into participation by 16–19 year olds in education and training, announced on 11 January, will look first at some of the research evidence on barriers to participation, including financial barriers, and the value of the Education Maintenance Allowance in overcoming these. The second part of the session will look at the implications for further education colleges and sixth-form colleges of increasing to 18 the age until which young people must participate in education or training.
