Possible implications for Northern Ireland of the Daylight Saving Bill

The Daylight Saving Bill, a Private Member’s Bill introduced by Rebecca Harris MP, currently being considered by Parliament would, if enacted, “require the Secretary of State to conduct a cross-departmental analysis of the potential costs and benefits of advancing time by one hour for all, or part of, the year” and to take action based in light of that analysis.

The Northern Ireland Affairs Committee invites evidence on the possible implications for Northern Ireland of advancing time by one hour for all, or part of, the year.

Any individual or organisation with an interest in this matter are invited to submit written evidence in accordance with the guidelines stated below. Each submission should:

• be no more than 3,000 words in length;
• have numbered paragraphs; and
• be in Word format or a rich text format with as little use of colour or logos as possible. Do not send PDFs.

A copy of the submission should be sent by e-mail to northircom@parliament.uk marked "Possible implications for Northern Ireland of the Daylight Saving Bill" and should arrive by Monday 28 March 2011.
