Lyons and Grade give evidence on BBC Trust

The House of Lords Communications Committee questioned Sir Michael Lyons, the outgoing Chairman of the BBC Trust, and Lord Grade, former Chairman of the BBC, on Tuesday 29 March.
At 3.30 pm, Sir Michael Lyons was asked about the relationship between the Trust and the BBC Board, the role of the Trust and the governance and regulation of the BBC. The Committee also talked to Sir Michael about content regulation, following comments from Lord Patten that there is a ‘compliance culture’ at the BBC which might inhibit programme makers.
Immediately following, at 4.15 pm, Lord Grade of Yarmouth, was questioned on the creation of the BBC Trust. Lord Grade was also asked about his decision to leave the BBC, the duties of the Trust and how well it is doing its job.
The meetings took place on Tuesday 29 March in Committee Room 2 of the House of Lords.
