The Joint Committe on Human Right’s (JCHR) evidence session, following the protests against tuition fees last November, showed up some of the difficulties faced by organisers, protesters and the police.

JCHR: pre-demo scrutiny
The issues will be examined in the Committee’s first 'pre-demo scrutiny', with TUC organisers of the march planned for 26 March and witnesses from the Met including Commander Bob Broadhurst, Head of Public Order.
Discussions will cover the Met’s new approach to controlling demonstrations by using Twitter to warn protesters of their tactics. The new approach is designed to help police keep up with unpredictable protests, as part of the new "communications and engagement" strategy.
