This will be the Committee’s fourth evidence session of its Inquiry into the Government’s use of IT. They will be hearing from Hewlett Packard (HP), the largest supplier of IT to Government. The Committee will follow up on a number of issues that have been raised over the course of the inquiry about the relationship between Government and System Integrators and whether the Government is able to get the best value out of these contracts. This session will take place on 23 March 2011 in Committee Room 15.

Particular issues that may arise include:

  • HP’s experience of Government IT;
  • The relationship between Government and large IT suppliers; and
    The ability of large suppliers to make use of open source and agile development.

Witnesses:

  • Craig Wilson, Managing Director, UK and Ireland, Hewlett Packard Enterprise Services;
  • Howard Hughes, Vice-President and General Manager for DWP, Hewlett Packard Enterprise Services
