Publication of Appointment of the Chair of the SSAC report

The Work and Pensions Committee will publish its Third Report of Session 2010-11, Appointment of the Chair of the Social Security Advisory Committee (SSAC) (HC 904-I), on Friday 1 April 2011 at 10:00am.
The Committee held a pre-appointment hearing with the Government’s preferred candidate for the post, Mr Deep Sagar, on 30 March. The purpose of the hearing was to assess the candidate’s suitability for the role, including their independence and expertise, and their ability to withstand public and parliamentary scrutiny.
