The International Development Committee will take evidence from the Independent Commission for Aid Impact (ICAI) on Wednesday 4 May at 10.30 in Committee Room 8, Palace of Westminster

The Committee held a pre-appointment hearing with the Chief Commissioner, Graham Ward and published a report in November 2010.

This evidence session has 3 main purposes:To examine the suitability of the 3 commissioners, in particular their expertise and independence. The commissioners have been appointed to the shadow ICAI and the Committee could if it wishes recommend in a report that one or more of the commissioners should not be appointed to the ‘full’ ICAI;

To examine the ICAI’s workplan; and make recommendations about changes

To monitor the ICAI
ICAI is accountable to the International Development Committee and this evidence session is an important part of the process of holding it to account
