The International Development Committee will take evidence from the Independent Commission for Aid Impact (ICAI) on Wednesday 4 May at 10.30 in Committee Room 8, Palace of Westminster

Witnesses:

At 10.30

  • Graham Ward CBE – Chief Commissioner, ICAI
  • Mark Foster – Commissioner, Shadow ICAI
  • John Githongo – Commissioner, Shadow ICAI
  • Diana Good – Commissioner, Shadow ICAI

The Committee held a pre-appointment hearing with the Chief Commissioner, Graham Ward and published a report in November 2010.

  • This evidence session has 3 main purposes:To examine the suitability of the 3 commissioners, in particular their expertise and independence. The commissioners have been appointed to the shadow ICAI and the Committee could if it wishes recommend in a report that one or more of the commissioners should not be appointed to the ‘full’ ICAI;
  • To examine the ICAI’s workplan; and make recommendations about changes
  • To monitor the ICAI

ICAI is accountable to the International Development Committee and this  evidence session is an important part of the process of holding it to account
