Nick Clegg questioned by Lords Constitution Committee

The Deputy Prime Minister will give evidence in the Committee’s inquiry into the process of constitutional reform.  He will also be questioned on current hot topics such as Scottish independence, the reform of the House of Lords and the AV referendum.

Other questions Mr Clegg is likely to face include:

• Have the Government moved too quickly to reform the UK’s constitution over the past year?
• What more can the Government do to involve the public in constitutional reform?
• How will the Government take forward its imminent proposals on House of Lords reform?
• What is the Government’s legal and constitutional position on a possible referendum on Scottish independence?
• Has the AV referendum of 5 May settled the electoral reform debate for the foreseeable future?

The Constitution Committee is examining how the process of constitutional reform can be improved, including how constitutional reform proposals should be developed, and what Parliament's role should be.
