Education Committee to question Sarah Teather MP and experts on SEN on the proposals outlined in the Green Paper on Tuesday 17 May at 10.00 am in Committee Room 16

Following the publication of the Government’s Green Paper on special educational needs (SEN), the Committee will be holding a session to hear expert views on how the proposals might affect young people, families and carers, and professionals. The panel will include Sue Bourne, the current headteacher of an outstanding special school, and Professor Geoff Lindsay, an academic working on SEN. They will sit alongside representatives from the Local Government Association, the Independent Parental Special Education Advice organisation, and nasen (formerly the National Association for Special Educational Needs).

In the second half of the session, Committee members will take evidence from Sarah Teather MP, the responsible Minister of State at the Department for Education, and have the opportunity to question her on the detail of the Green Paper’s many proposals.
