Consultation on sitting hours and the Parliamentary calendar

The Procedure Committee has published a consultation document on reform of the sitting hours of the House of Commons and the Parliamentary calendar. This document does not represent the final view of the Committee and none of the options contained in it has been recommended by the Committee. Rather, the document is provided to assist witnesses in enabling the Committee to assess the merits of options for reform.

The Committee is inviting comments on options for reform of the House’s sitting hours and the Parliamentary calendar.

The consultation document can be viewed here.

The Committee would welcome comments on any or all of the possibilities canvassed in the document by Friday 16 December 2011. Responses may be sent by e-mail to ProcCom@parliament.uk or by post to Procedure Committee, Journal Office, House of Commons, London SW1A 0AA.
