The Public Administration Select Committee (PASC) will hear from the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman, Ann Abraham. The session is PASC’s regular annual survey of the work and performance of her office. This will be the Ombudsman’s final appearance before the Committee before she retires in January 2012. This session takes place on Tuesday 29 November in Committee Room 19.

Issues that may arise include:

  • the work and performance of the Ombudsman over the last year;
  • how well departments and the NHS are responding to and learning from complaints; and
  • the Ombudsman’s recent consultation on direct access to the Parliamentary Ombudsman.

Witnesses:

  • Ann Abraham, Parliamentary Commissioner for Administration and Health Service Commissioner for England
  • Kathryn Hudson, Deputy Ombudsman
  • Bill Richardson, Deputy Chief Executive
