Committee takes evidence on roots of violent radicalisation

This is the second session of the committee's new inquiry. It provides the opportunity to gain insights about the radicalisation process, and approaches to counter-radicalisation, from individuals who work closely with those who have been radicalised or are at risk.

The Chair of the Committee, Rt Hon Keith Vaz MP, said:

"The challenges London and the nation have faced with radicalisation in the past 5 years highlight the need to consult with those individuals and organisations that deal with this issue on a daily basis. Understanding the reasons behind individuals becoming radicalised is the key to spotting and preventing others becoming radical.

 

I also look forward to hearing from those who deal with de-radicalisation. Ali Soufan, as a former FBI agent and as the founder the Soufan Group will provide the Committee with additional insight including the international influences that can lead to radicalisation."
