The Environment Food and Rural Affairs Committee will take oral evidence from Maria Damanaki, Commissioner, DG Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, European Commission on Thursday 27 October at 11.00am.

With more than 90% of EU fish stocks at risk of being reduced to unsustainable levels by 2022 as a consequence of current patterns of over-fishing, this session will examine how far the Commissioner's latest reform proposals for the Common Fisheries Policy are likely to deliver more fish and more economically viable fishing industries in the future.
