The CAP Towards 2020

In November 2010, the European Commission published a Communication on “The CAP Towards 2020”. In January 2011, Lord Roper, EU Committee Chairman, wrote to set out the committee’s views; the Commission sent a reply in September 2011. The committee has also published a report, in July 2011, on innovation in EU agriculture.

In November 2010, the European Commission published a Communication on “The CAP Towards 2020”, as part of the process of preparing detailed proposals for the reform of the CAP. In January 2011, Lord Roper, Chairman of the Lords EU Committee, wrote to the Commission to set out the committee’s views on the Communication. In September 2011, the Commission replied to offer comments on the views expressed. In the interim period, the committee has published a report, in July 2011, on innovation in EU agriculture, which explores the issues more fully.
