The Commons Transport Committee has published its Fifth Special Report of Session 2010–12, The cost of motor insurance: Government Response to the Committee’s Fourth Report of Session 2010-12 (HC 1466)

Commenting on this response, Committee Chair Louise Ellman MP said,

"It’s clear that following our report the Government now accepts that it is has to act to help bring down the overall level of motor insurance premiums. We welcome this. However, there remain serious questions about what action ministers will now take – particularly to tackle the problem of referral fees. We will pursue this matter at a further session of oral evidence next month."
