The Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee has today received a response from the Secretary of State (PDF) to his letter of 19 April seeking further information on the Foreign Office’s handling of the case of Mr Neil Heywood (PDF), who died in Chongqing in the People’s Republic of China on 14 November 2011

Notes for Editors:

Mr Neil Heywood was a British national who died in Chongqing, People’s Republic of China, on 14 November 2011. His death is being investigated by the Chinese authorities. The Foreign Secretary issued a Written Ministerial Statement on Tuesday 17 April, setting out how the case had been handled by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
