On Tuesday 17 July, the House passed a motion amending the Committee’s standing orders to permit it to convene a sitting in Westminster Hall on any Monday afternoon from 4.30 – 7.30 pm.

These sittings will only take place if the Committee orders them to do so. There will not be a sitting every Monday in Westminster Hall as a matter of course.

The only debates that can take place at these sittings are debates on e-petitions. The Committee can designate one or more e-petition(s) for debate at any given sitting. Each e-petition is debated on the motion "That the House has considered the e-petition [from]...".

This change takes effect immediately.
