Chair's comments

Rt Hon Keith Vaz MP, Chair of the Committee, said:

“This conference brings together some of the highest authorities on policing from across the UK and around the world to launch our inquiry on leadership and standards in the police.

At this time of dramatic change, when serious questions are being asked about integrity and standards, effective police leadership is of critical importance in Britain—we hope to learn from the experiences of our colleagues from Interpol and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.”

The remit of the Home Affairs Committee is to examine the expenditure, administration and policy of the Home Office and its associated public bodies.
