Lords quiz Ambassadors of Lithuania, Slovakia and Slovenia on European External Action Service

The House of Lords EU Sub-Committee on External Affairs will tomorrow take evidence from the Ambassadors of Lithuania, Slovakia and Slovenia as part of the inquiry into the role and operation of the European External Action Service (EEAS).
Witnesses
At 10.05am the Commitee will hear from:
- HE Mrs Asta Skaisgirytė Liauškienė, Lithuanian Ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
- HE Mr Miroslav Wlachovský, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
- HE Mr Iztok Jarc, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

EU Sub-Committee C - External Affairs
The Committee will ask the Ambassadors whether they feel the EEAS has strengthened the EU’s position in external relations and improved coherence and consistency in EU policy. They will seek views on how the creation of the EEAS has impacted on the foreign policy of their countries and whether they feel some countries have undue power and influence within the EEAS.
The witnesses will also be asked whether the current budget for the EEAS is appropriate or if it should be provided with greater resources.
