The Joint Committee has now completed its hearing of the cases on the 5 petitions before them.  Last week (December 12), the Chairman of the Commitee, Mr Brian Binley MP, announced the Committee's decision that:

1.   There was no case to answer in respect of:

• Petition 35 (petition for amendment by Waste Recycling Group Limited, WRG Waste Services Limited and Anti Waste Limited)
• petition 36 (petition of general objection by Central Bedfordshire Council) and
• Petition 38 (petition of general objection by Bedford Borough Council).

2.   There was a limited case to answer in respect of the following petitions but only in relation to proposed amendments relating to the waterway:

• petition 37 (petition for amendment by Central Bedfordshire Council) and
• Petition 39 (petition for amendment by Bedford Borough Council).
