Drug education and treatment options explored

The Home Affairs Committee examines prevention options and the treatment options that are open to drug addicts in this evidence session. The witnesses in this session are people who have been working on drug policy for some time and a number of them have been personally affected by drug use.

Committee Chair Rt Hon Keith Vaz MP said:
"Drug education and treatment are both vital to preventing and tackling drug use and addiction. I look forward to questioning those providing drugs education about the progress they have made in raising awareness about the dangers of drugs, particularly in children.
I also look forward to taking evidence from Professor Strang and the Ley Community Group about their experience of providing drug treatment and the advantages of different types of treatment.
Hearing from those personally affected by drugs use is essential to our inquiry. I am delighted that the Rehab Grads, Adam Langer and Maryon Stewart from the Angelus Foundation will be presenting their personal experiences to the Committee."
