Lords Constitution Committee to question Nick Clegg

Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg gives evidence to the House of Lords Constitution Committee on a range of constitutional issues including proposals for reform of the House of Lords.

The session is an annual one the Committee hold with the Deputy Prime Minister. On Lords reform the Committee will ask Mr Clegg whether he anticipates that use of the Parliament Act will be necessary to deliver Lords reform and for his views on the current size of the House with 787 Peers currently eligible to attend.

Other areas the Committee will cover with Mr Clegg include:

  • The Government’s approach to constitutional change
  • Devolution and the Scottish Government’s recent consultation paper Your Scotland, Your Referendum
  • Funding of political parties
